About the Role
Qualicare is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to support day-to-day operations in a growing home-care business. This role is for a motivated, organized professional who combines nursing judgment with strong communication and problem-solving skills, overseeing client care coordination, caregiver scheduling, and service issue resolution.
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial client assessments, develop care plans, and coordinate services.
- Respond to new client and referral partner inquiries, schedule initial assessments, and coordinate the setup of care services.
- Manage caregiver schedules and arrange coverage for PSW call-ins and no-shows.
- Support caregivers, address client and family concerns, and resolve service issues.
- Participate in scheduled after-hours phone coverage, coordinating staffing solutions and responding to client, family, and clinical concerns.
- Deliver occasional direct care when needed to maintain service continuity.
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with College of Nurses practice standards.
Requirements
- Current RPN registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Strong organizational, communication, clinical judgment, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and make sound decisions.
- A professional, client-focused approach when communicating with families, caregivers, and referral partners.
- Comfortable using scheduling software and electronic medical records.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation; travel to client homes and partner facilities is required.
- Weekend availability is mandatory, along with some after-hours on-call coverage.
- Previous supervisory or home-care experience is an asset but is not required.
