- Improve payment functionality for users, such as launching new payment methods, reducing payout delays, and streamlining checkout.
- Investigate and resolve payment issues end-to-end, identifying root causes using available tools, including AI for data exploration.
- Plan and sequence team initiatives with the engineering lead, driving them to delivery while balancing user needs, cost reduction, compliance, and platform health.
- Prioritize work effectively, clearly defining what will be done and what will not.
- Partner closely with Finance, Accounting, Tax, Support, Risk, and Legal teams.
- Communicate the roadmap and outcomes to Taskrabbit senior leadership.

- Understanding of how the payment experience shapes user behavior and business outcomes.
- Ability to track metrics like authorization and decline rates and identify causes for changes.
- Care about user payment problems and investigate to find root causes.
- Comfortable using AI tools to query data and understand system behavior.
- Understanding of how payments work under the hood (e.g., auth and capture flows, ledgers, reconciliation, processor and bank interactions) or eagerness to learn.
- Strong sense of what moves the needle and ability to make tradeoffs with conviction.
- Ability to say no, explain reasoning, and keep the team focused on high-impact work.
- Ability to build trust with partners, gather input, and create a clear plan.
