About the Role
Join our infrastructure engineering team supporting the lab environments that enable the development and testing of our products. You'll work across infrastructure automation, configuration management, monitoring, virtualisation and hands-on lab engineering, helping make our environments more reliable, standardised and efficient. This is a practical, collaborative role where you’ll work with technologies such as Ansible, Windows, Linux and Prometheus, while exploring how AI and automation can simplify operational workflows and improve the way we manage our infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Support, maintain and improve lab infrastructure, including Windows and Linux systems, virtual machines, networking and associated infrastructure.
- Develop infrastructure automation and configuration management using tools such as Ansible, reducing repetitive provisioning, configuration, validation and operational activities.
- Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure health and connectivity, using observability technologies such as Prometheus to improve reliability and operational visibility.
- Explore AI and automation opportunities to improve engineering workflows, standardisation and operational efficiency.
- Support hands-on lab activities and collaborate with engineering teams, including rack equipment installation, patching, fibre and Cat6 cabling, while tracking engineering activities through Jira.
Requirements
- Relevant current hands-on commercial experience in infrastructure, DevOps or systems engineering.
- A degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Current practical experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management, particularly Ansible or similar deployment tooling.
- Good working knowledge of Linux and Windows environments and virtual machine platforms.
- Experience with infrastructure monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus.
- Strong infrastructure troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with experience using work-tracking tools such as Jira or similar.
- Willingness to work hands-on in a lab environment and enthusiasm for applying AI and automation to operational workflows.
- Previous experience working in an engineering, test or laboratory environment.
- Experience with physical infrastructure, racks, networking, fibre or Cat6 cabling.
- Broader experience in infrastructure standardisation, operational tooling or process improvement.
- Appropriate right to work in the UK.
