About the Role
Build high-performance, highly available backend services for customer-facing features used by restaurants and their guests globally. Shape the connectivity of newly launched DashOS products, working closely with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, deploy, and improve backend services for customer-facing features.
- Own features end-to-end, including technical design, launch, and ongoing support.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to ensure system reliability.
- Address challenges in data, latency, and scale, such as unifying guest identity and real-time availability search.
- Build on DoorDash's global platform to ensure features reach multiple markets.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers across different locations.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Experience building and operating backend services or web applications in production.
- Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and system design.
- Ability to pick up new languages and tools as the platform evolves.
- Ownership of technical solutions from design to production.
- Comfortable using AI coding tools and taking responsibility for their output.
- Enjoy collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve complex problems.
