About the Role
As a Software Engineer II at Honeywell Aerospace, you will design, develop, and implement software and solutions for aerospace products and systems. You will contribute to innovative projects that enhance the performance, safety, and reliability of aerospace electrical systems, impacting the development and delivery of cutting-edge solutions that support Honeywell’s aerospace initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test and maintain software tools and applications for aerospace systems and products.
- Translate system and software requirements into robust implementations.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of software development processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex software bugs and defects.
- Collaborate across various functional and global engineering and project engineering teams.
- Work with engineering teams to help release design and documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as SW Engineering, science, technology, or mathematics.
- 3+ years of experience in software development, preferably in embedded systems or aerospace-related applications.
- Candidate must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization).
Skills
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, C
- Understanding of software development lifecycle
- Strong analytical skills
- Attention to detail in design and testing processes
- Basic knowledge of hardware-software integration and debugging techniques
- Familiarity with aerospace software standards such as DO-178C
- Experience with debugging and testing embedded software
- Experience with avionics software development and integration
- Experience with version control systems
- Experience with software testing methodologies
- Knowledge of real-time operating systems
- Knowledge of embedded software design
- Knowledge of aerospace industry standards
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
- Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Eagerness to learn new technologies
