About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to own our client reporting data models and pipelines. This role transforms raw data into reliable, structured, and performant assets for reporting, analysis, and AI. You will manage client reporting, standardize data modeling, orchestrate analytical workflows, and provide analytical support for business functions.

Responsibilities

Scope and develop new client reports, and maintain/enhance existing reporting pipelines.
Collaborate with external clients and internal client success teams to manage and triage inbound requests.
Partner with Valon Technologies' data team to improve underlying client reporting infrastructure.
Design, build, and maintain production-grade data models and analytical layers using BigQuery, dbt, and Airflow.
Partner with engineering and product teams to define and implement data contracts and observability frameworks.
Write complex SQL queries, build dashboards (e.g., Hex, Looker), and conduct ad hoc analysis.
Empower operational leaders and provide root-cause insights into business performance.

Requirements

7+ years of combined experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a highly technical data analytics role.
Experience at a technology company or financial institution; Series B–E startup experience is a plus.
Expertise in SQL.
Strong proficiency in Python.
Proven experience with dbt and Airflow.
Deep understanding of data architecture patterns (e.g., medallion architecture).
Experience implementing data quality frameworks, observability tools, or data contracts at scale.
Experience with data visualization tools (Hex, Looker, or equivalent).
Proficiency in Google Sheets/Microsoft Excel.
Strong product mindset, focusing on usability, reliability, and developer experience of data systems.
Proven ability to solve complex problems independently and build repeatable processes.
