About the Role
Champion Home Builders, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Analyst to support manufacturing operations. This role will analyze product and manufacturing costs, monitor variances, support inventory valuation, and provide financial insights to improve profitability and cost control.
Responsibilities
- Analyze manufacturing costs, including material, labor, and manufacturing overhead.
- Maintain and analyze standard costs and compare standard costs to actual manufacturing results.
- Investigate and explain material, labor, overhead, purchase price, and other manufacturing variances.
- Review bills of material (BOMs) and other cost components for accuracy and reasonableness.
- Perform audits on the production line to ensure accuracy of BOMs.
- Support the monthly accounting close.
- Prepare weekly/monthly cost and variance reports for management and operations.
- Work closely with Production and Purchasing to identify the causes of unfavorable cost trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Analyze costs associated with new products, product changes, and manufacturing process changes.
- Assist with internal and external audit requests.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting, controls, and cost-accounting processes.
Requirements
- Strong accounting or finance background.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with Accounting, Production, Purchasing, Engineering, and other operational teams.
- Knowledge of accounting and financial analysis.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; high-level proficiency with Excel.
- Navision and Oracle experience would be a plus.
- Strong Math skills and ability to solve complex calculations.
- Close attention to detail.

- Background check and Drug Screen are required.
