About the Role
Menorah Park of CNY is seeking a Full Time Maintenance Mechanic to perform general maintenance duties, including routine installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems to maintain facility grounds, equipment, and building elements.
Responsibilities
- Perform semi-skilled tasks in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with current applicable Federal, State, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, as well as the facility's established policies and procedures on a multitude of plumbing, electric Steam, air handling, refrigeration, and building systems.
- Inspect electrical systems and equipment including lighting circuits and switches, making routine repairs, replacing fuses, cleaning panels, etc. as necessary.
- Clean and lubricate electric motors; small and major appliances, floor machines, carts etc. making repairs, as necessary.
- Repair or replace cords and plugs on electrical equipment; remove, replace, repair switches, wiring panels.
- Clean and/or replace air conditioner filters.
- Repair, adjust, and clean ceiling vents, utility fans, exhaust fans, bearings and belts.
- Cut, thread, assemble, and seal pipes and fittings.
- Replace valve seats and packings.
- Remove, repair, adjust, maintain defrost controls, condensers and coolers.
- Assist in initial installations of new equipment.
- Actively participate in the preventative maintenance program.
- Repair, inspect plumbing valves, tub and shower connections, snake kitchen floor and drains, kitchen sink and dishwasher.
- Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment and areas as directed.
- Weld machinery, as directed.
- Paint walls, ceilings, curbs etc. as assigned.
- Maintain, clean, and inspect boilers, expansion joints, insulation and vacuum breakers.
- Report all unsafe/hazardous conditions, defective equipment, breakdowns, incidents/accidents, etc., to your supervisor immediately.
- Ensure work areas and corridors are clean and free of hazardous conditions and that tools, supplies are properly stored before leaving such areas on breaks, end of work day, etc.
- Ensure that maintenance schedules are followed as outlined for respective shift.
- Perform grounds keeping including mowing, edging, trimming, snow removal and general clean up as directed.
- Attend and participate in in-service programs, on-the-job training programs, seminars, workshops, etc., as directed.
- Perform other similar or related duties.
- Be on call on a rotational basis.
Requirements
- Ability to repetitively lift 25 - 50 lbs., push / pull up to 250 lbs., repetitively reach above head, climb etc.
