About the Role
This role focuses on leveraging AI tools to analyze Outset's internal data, enabling faster decision-making than traditional analytics roles. The ideal candidate will be proficient in SQL and Python, and capable of building internal tools and AI skills to automate recurring tasks and improve company-wide processes.
Responsibilities
- Answer recurring business questions across GTM, People, Product and Engineering using SQL, Python, and AI tooling.
- Build internal tools such as apps, Slack bots, scripts, dashboards, and AI skills to eliminate manual reporting or repeated ad hoc requests.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs before building solutions.
- Maintain and improve data pipelines to ensure data accuracy.
- Evaluate and adopt new AI tools and workflows.
- Document built solutions for others to use.
- Identify and flag data quality issues and definition inconsistencies.
Requirements
- 3+ years in a data analyst, analytics engineer, or BI role.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python.
- Hands-on experience using AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Cursor) to build scripts, agents, or automations.
- A proactive approach to automating repetitive manual processes.
- Ability to translate vague stakeholder requests into specific, well-scoped answers.
- Clear written communication skills for explaining findings and tools to non-technical audiences.
- Experience in a startup environment with evolving data stacks and tooling.
- Experience building or prompting AI agents/workflows.
- Familiarity with modern BI/data tools (e.g., dbt, Looker, Hex).
