About the Role
As the first dedicated finance hire, you will build and scale the finance function alongside the Co-Founder and Managing Director. This role offers direct exposure to all financial aspects of a rapidly growing fitness company, from daily operations to strategic financial planning and fundraising.
Responsibilities
- Manage payment transactions, including payroll, leases, and deposits.
- Oversee month-end closing processes in collaboration with the tax advisor.
- Reconcile partner revenues (e.g., Urban Sports Club) and trainer costs.
- Prepare monthly financial reports per studio and compare planned vs. actual figures.
- Maintain and update financial plans based on BWA accounts and cost centers.
- Manage rolling liquidity forecasts and prepare documentation for banks and partners.
- Handle HR master data, employment contracts, and payroll preparation.
- Take on FP&A responsibilities, including budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning.
- Develop business cases for new locations.
- Prepare for and increasingly lead financing discussions.
Requirements
- Completed degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in finance, preferably in a startup or fast-growing company.
- Proactive attitude with a desire to learn quickly and take initiative.
- Familiarity with the interplay of preparatory accounting, external tax advisors, and DATEV.
- Experience working with SKR03 or SKR04 chart of accounts.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Hands-on approach to operational tasks and process improvement.
- Strong business acumen and a desire to understand financial data.
- Negotiation-level fluency in German (C2) and proficiency in English.
- Reside in Berlin or be willing to relocate.
