About the Role
Minerva is seeking its first strategic finance hire, offering maximum exposure to key business challenges faced by the executive team. This generalist role, within the operations organization, will collaborate with leadership to prioritize analyses, prepare models for capital and resource allocation, and contribute to planning, operations, go-to-market, pricing, board and investor reporting, and special projects.
Responsibilities
- Own the core financial models that guide capital allocation and resource planning.
- Design incentive systems that improve employee performance, retention and satisfaction.
- Design commercial policies (pricing, packaging, contract terms) that deeply align our incentives with our customers while building a sound financial foundation across products.
- Optimize A/P and A/R policies with Accounting / RevOps.
- Partner with CoS to own all board, investor, and internal reporting materials, turning complex data into clear narratives that drive decisions.
- Work with the CEO & CoS to develop operating KPIs and reporting systems.
- Build business cases for strategic decisions including deal structuring, investments, hiring plans, and product launches.
Requirements
- Extreme agency, candor and rigor
- 4-7+ years of experience in strategic finance, investment banking, private equity, growth equity, or a similar high-rigor analytical role
- Corporate development exposure is a plus but is not required.
- Strong financial modeling skills and the ability to build complex operating models from scratch, including experience with unit economics and cost structure analysis
- Comfort with ambiguity and a bias toward ownership
- Willingness to match or outpace the hours and intensity of the leadership team
- More likely to answer a question by finding the person who has already solved the problem than deriving an answer from first principles
- Willingness to have an opinion and share it
