About the Role

Material is seeking a Director of Analytics to lead marketing measurement, reporting, and advanced analytics for a dedicated client engagement, working with a remote team. This role connects media activity and digital behavior to leads, appointments, customers, and revenue, giving clients a clearer view of performance and better evidence for investment decisions. The Director owns analytics strategy and delivery across client and agency teams, guiding technical implementation, overseeing automated reporting, developing attribution and modeling approaches, and turning complex findings into actionable recommendations. They will also be a lead voice in Material’s growing digital analytics and data science practice.

Responsibilities

  • Lead measurement strategy, defining KPI frameworks, baselines, reporting requirements, and measurement plans that connect marketing activity to outcomes across the customer journey.
  • Connect campaign and lead data to understand lead sources, funnel progression, conversion quality, and downstream value, identifying measurement limitations.
  • Develop attribution and modeling approaches, guiding the design and evaluation of lead attribution, multi-touch attribution, audience segmentation, and propensity models.
  • Direct reporting and business intelligence, owning the analytical quality of BI dashboards, recurring reports, and executive presentations.
  • Build scalable report automation, leading automated workflows for data collection, preparation, reporting, and quality checks.
  • Work with cloud data warehouses, using SQL to explore, validate, and prepare marketing data in Snowflake, and resolving pipeline issues with data engineering.
  • Own data quality and governance, investigating discrepancies and documenting metric definitions, attribution logic, data lineage, quality checks, and known limitations.
  • Guide implementation and testing, partnering with teams on tagging, data layers, campaign parameters, conversion feeds, and implementation QA.
  • Lead client delivery and develop the team by managing priorities, reviewing analysts’ work, flagging risks, and presenting findings to technical and executive audiences.

Requirements

  • 6-8 years of experience in digital marketing analytics, ideally in a digital, consulting, or media agency setting, including designing multi-stage, data-driven solutions from requirements through delivery.
  • Experience connecting paid media and digital analytics data to lead management, CRM stages, customer outcomes, and revenue.
  • Strong understanding of lead attribution and marketing measurement methods, including their assumptions and limitations.
  • Experience guiding segmentation or predictive modeling.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with Snowflake or a comparable cloud data warehouse.
  • Experience developing and overseeing BI dashboards and automated reporting workflows.
  • Working knowledge of Marketo, Salesforce, campaign tracking, tag management, and marketing data integration.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose data discrepancies, set reporting standards, and turn complex analyses into clear client recommendations.
  • Ability to self-organize and prioritize competing work for multiple stakeholders across geographies, within a cross-agency team and an evolving organization.
  • Creative problem solver who can turn data and research into insights and relevant recommendations.
  • Experience with Supermetrics, Campaign Manager 360, Google Tag Manager, GA4, and other media or web analytics platforms.
  • Experience connecting online activity to offline conversions, appointments, or sales.
  • Familiarity with incrementality testing, marketing mix modeling, forecasting, and customer lifetime value analysis.
  • Experience with Account Based Marketing.
  • Experience setting quality controls and review practices for AI-assisted analytics and reporting.
