About the Role
We are visual journalists who tell stories with images and stage them. Together we shape the look of BILD across all platforms. We give BILD its image. Strengthen our team as a Photo Editor and help shape the visual future of Germany's largest media brand.
Responsibilities
- Research, procure, and curate images for journalistic reporting in digital and print.
- Develop visual concepts and convey topics with the right image selection.
- Plan and manage photo productions and the deployment of photographers.
- Collaborate closely with editors, photographers, the editorial board, and other departments.
- Verify sources, image rights, and the authenticity of visual content.
- Utilize modern research, verification, and AI-supported tools, and actively contribute to their development in daily editorial work.
Requirements
- Recognize image trends and develop strong photo offerings with sound photojournalistic experience.
- Conduct research confidently and leverage your network with agencies, publishers, and photographers domestically and internationally.
- Familiarity with modern image databases, production systems, and digital workflows, with an interest in the further development of AI and image verification.
- Understand the responsible handling of copyrights, personality rights, and sources.
- Maintain an overview and make sound decisions even in dynamic news situations.
- Willingness to work shifts, including Sundays and public holidays.
