About the Role
JPW Companies is seeking an experienced Press Brake Operator for its facility in Syracuse, NY. This role emphasizes precision, quality, and safety in metal fabrication and CNC press brake operation.
Responsibilities
- Load tooling, select dies, and input or adjust CNC programs for precise angles and dimensions.
- Interpret technical specifications, shop drawings, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) symbols.
- Measure finished metal parts using precision tools to verify tight tolerances.
- Feed sheet metal into the press, run production batches, and operate forklifts or hoist equipment.
- Perform daily and weekly equipment cleanings, inspect hydraulic systems, and troubleshoot minor issues.
- Adhere to OSHA guidelines, wear required PPE, and maintain a clean workspace.
Requirements
- Minimum of three years of experience.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience operating CNC or conventional press brakes.
- Understanding of metal characteristics.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Strong working knowledge of shop math, angles, and precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to stand for long shifts, perform repetitive motions, and lift heavy metal pieces (up to 50 lbs).
