About the Role

LEAP Legal Software is seeking a Personal Injury Content Lead, a practicing personal injury lawyer with deep tort and Accident Benefits (AB) experience, to shape how LEAP’s software empowers personal injury lawyers and practitioners across Canada. This role blends practical litigation knowledge with a passion for legal technology innovation, ensuring products are intuitive and efficient for PI practices. Experience with both claimant and insurer sides is welcome, and familiarity with both is an asset. The role involves developing and refining automated matter types, documents, and workflows based on experience running files from intake through trials and hearings, collaborating with content and form teams to design time-saving solutions, and presenting LEAP’s PI-specific tools to the PI and insurance bar.

Responsibilities

  • Lead content innovation by conducting legal research to enhance LEAP’s tort and AB content and automation.
  • Engage with PI clients to gather feedback and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement insights.
  • Oversee and continuously improve LEAP’s Personal Injury matter types for seamless workflows.
  • Curate and expand LEAP’s library of automated forms and documents for accurate data population and deadline management.
  • Develop AI prompt templates and leverage AI capabilities to generate draft documents.
  • Present LEAP’s PI-specific tools and software at events and build relationships with the PI and insurance bar.
  • Support strategic content initiatives through research, analysis, and project management.

Requirements

  • LL.B. or J.D. degree with active membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario or another Canadian Law Society.
  • Minimum 4+ years of extensive tort and AB experience.
  • Experience appearing at LAT case conferences and hearings.
  • Exposure to appeals of LAT decisions at the appellate court level is preferred.
  • Experience running files from intake through Superior Court of Justice trials and LAT hearings.
  • Experience instructing clerks and associates on records and deadline management.
  • Strong legal research, drafting, and analytical skills.
  • A genuine passion for legal technology and innovation.
  • Experience using practice management or document automation software is an asset.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Comfort presenting LEAP’s PI-specific tools and software to external audiences.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities with a focus on quality and detail.
  • A proactive, curious mindset.
