About the Role
The Global VMM Data team in Amsterdam works on a centralized global data platform to serve high-quality curated data for Valuation Market Making (VMM) research and strategies. We are building a central system to ingest, curate, and expose data to IMC's research tooling.
Responsibilities
- Enable high-quality research using fundamental option pricing data.
- Increase researchers' focus by centralizing data curation.
- Enable quick onboarding of new data sets for researching new strategies.
- Build tooling for data curators and expose data to research tooling for global access.
- Write reliable, high-performance software, balancing time to production with quality and testability.
- Achieve agile and incremental benefits through advanced automated testing and daily deployments.
- Consider trade-offs between latency, throughput, simplicity, scalability, and maintainability.
- Code, develop, test, deploy, and maintain applications and automations for data curators, other VMM developers, and Traders/researchers.
- Support users and understand their needs and the data served.
- Be involved in the architectural design of our system.
- Build a system that is highly-performant at serving petabytes of data globally.
Requirements
- At least > 4 years of experience as a Software Engineer.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and Linux.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and take full ownership of applications.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills; ability to solve problems creatively and proactively.
- Curiosity and a willingness to learn.
Skills
- Strong programming skills in Java (11+), with experience in the latest versions highly desirable.
- Strong programming skills with Python, especially around data, highly preferred.
- Experience working in data analysis and building data platforms, highly preferred.
