About the Role
Help build an in-house accounting function from the ground up. This role involves hands-on day-to-day accounting, automating manual steps, and participating in an ERP rollout. It's for someone who wants to own their area and contribute to a hyper-growth energy-tech company.
Responsibilities
- Process, check, and post incoming invoices into DATEV, including correct VAT treatment
- Handle expenses and credit card bookings
- Maintain vendor master data and keep supplier accounts reconciled
- Prepare payment runs
- Reconcile bank transactions
- Prepare accruals and reconciliations for your areas
- Support the monthly close and year-end, working with auditors
- Keep documentation GoBD-compliant and audit-ready
- Partner with Ops, Procurement and budget owners to resolve invoice and cost questions
- Spot manual steps in processes and automate them
- Contribute to our ERP rollout
Requirements
- 2 to 4 years of hands-on bookkeeping experience, ideally in accounts payable
- Comfortable creating processes when they don't exist
- Solid understanding of German GAAP (HGB) and VAT basics
- Precise and fast work ethic
- Analytical and confident in Excel or Google Sheets for reconciliations
- Fluent in English
- German is a strong plus (B1 or better)
- Experience in a fast-growing company or at a tax firm serving start-up clients
- Hands-on with DATEV Rechnungswesen and DATEV Unternehmen online (DUO)
- Training as Steuerfachangestellte/r or Kaufmann/-frau
- Experience with Moss or similar spend management tools
- Automation experience or strong tech curiosity
