About the Role
We are seeking caring and enthusiastic Early Childhood Assistant Teachers to support our team in providing high-quality early childhood education. As an Assistant Teacher, you will work closely with the lead teacher to create a nurturing and stimulating learning environment where children can thrive and develop essential skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities.
- Monitor children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and child-friendly classroom environment.
- Provide one-on-one support and assistance to children as needed.
- Assist in observing and documenting children's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to assessments and reports.
- Work collaboratively with the lead teacher and other team members to plan and implement learning experiences.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and administrators.
- Participate in training sessions, workshops, and other professional development.
- Promote good health and hygiene practices among children.
- Assist with meal/snack times, diapering/toileting routines, and other daily care tasks.
- Support students in their social emotional growth and development.
- Collaborate with other educational team members to provide a balanced and comprehensive educational experience.
- Attend faculty meetings, seek out professional development, and contribute to the overall school community.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience working with young children in a preschool, childcare center, or similar setting preferred.
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with young children.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow directions from lead teachers and supervisors.
