About the Role
As a Senior DevOps & Cloud Engineer, you will take on technical project leadership for 2-3 client projects concurrently. You will gather client requirements, translate them into architecture, and break them down into actionable tasks, including effort estimation. You will also mentor junior and intermediate engineers through code and architecture reviews, serving as an escalation point for task completion. Additionally, you will identify follow-up needs with clients and initiate new projects in collaboration with sales.
Responsibilities
- Technical project leadership for 2-3 client projects concurrently
- Gather client requirements, translate them into architecture, and break them down into actionable tasks
- Estimate effort for tasks
- Mentor junior and intermediate engineers through code and architecture reviews
- Serve as an escalation point for task completion
- Identify follow-up needs with clients
- Initiate new projects in collaboration with sales
Requirements
- Completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field with excellent grades
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a DevOps or Cloud Engineer, or with responsibility for infrastructure, CI/CD, or platform operations (internship time does not count)
- Very good backend programming skills in Java or Python
- Professional experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, and AWS; Azure is a plus
- Practical experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD, as well as version control with Git
- Passion for programming, demonstrable on GitHub, in open-source contributions, home labs, or personal projects
- Quality awareness for code and strong analytical skills
- Fluent German (C2 level) and good English
- Residence and work permit in Germany
