About the Role
Analytics engineering plays an important role in the financial services domain, which orchestrates all money movements to power Mollie's financial products. This role involves establishing robust data pipelines, maintaining automated data quality checks, and fostering collaboration to ensure data integrity and enable daily reconciliation of Mollie's books.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain dbt data models, from raw source data to consumable mart tables, powering tooling and dashboards that monitor critical financial processes.
- Work closely with engineers to understand how Mollie's money movements and financial processes work to ensure correct data modeling.
- Partner with stakeholders across Merchant Finance & Treasury domains to define and track key financial data, and enable daily reconciliation.
- Implement data quality validation checks, testing frameworks, and proactive monitoring to ensure high trust in the data used for analysis and decision making.
Requirements
- Strong technical foundation in SQL.
- Experience with data modeling and automation.
- Strong level of dbt.
- Experience in BigQuery/GCP and Airflow are a plus.
- Ability to take a helicopter view to zoom in and out to determine what really matters.
- Skilled at stakeholder management, especially across technical and non-technical teams.
- Willingness to challenge senior stakeholders on their assumptions and requests.
- Experience in financial data and financial processes is a big plus.
- Experience in fintech and/or banking is a big plus.
- Business-aware, impact-driven, and curious.
