About the Role
Lead the development of gaming editorial content across online casino, slots, bingo, and poker. Write distinctive coverage, build plans, formats, and a freelance network for scaled publishing. This hands-on role requires an understanding of gaming, reader needs, and commercial performance, with a focus on maintaining accuracy, using performance data, and upholding editorial and safer gambling standards.
Responsibilities
- Write, edit, and publish operator reviews for online casino, bingo, and poker, alongside slot coverage, explainers, and safer gambling content.
- Create and maintain a new slot release tracker and produce weekly rankings for popular games and notable payouts.
- Translate RTP data, slot trends, and market reports into clear articles and visual information packs.
- Develop coverage of gaming streamers and platforms like Kick, including carefully sourced weekly performance rankings.
- Keep reviews, guides, and comparison pages accurate and current.
- Own the gaming content plan, collaborating with the editorial lead, SEO, and commercial teams to set priorities and identify opportunities.
- Utilize search, audience, and conversion data to assess performance, improve existing content, and inform future coverage.
- Commission, brief, and edit freelance contributors, ensuring editorial quality as output increases.
- Support other editorial departments during major racing and sporting events.
Requirements
- Experience writing and editing gaming content, with knowledge of online casino and slots, and an understanding of bingo and poker.
- Clear, engaging writing style, supported by examples of accurate, well-researched work.
- Ability to explain gaming features, RTP, volatility, bonuses, and operator differences in plain English.
- Excellent attention to detail, judgment to evaluate claims and check sources, and a commitment to accuracy.
- Good organizational skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and balance new coverage with regular updates.
- Confidence in planning content and using performance data to improve it.
- Ability to produce clear briefs and provide constructive editorial feedback; previous experience commissioning freelancers is advantageous.
- Understanding of responsible gambling coverage, including appropriate presentation of payouts and streamer activity.
- Familiarity with SEO and experience using a content management system.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and respond constructively to editorial feedback.
- Knowledge of sports betting and an interest in data visualization are advantageous.
