About the Role
The Field Engineer role is part of multi-disciplined project teams, responsible for designing and delivering complex mission-critical voice and data systems. This role operates in the post-sales phase of projects, potentially supporting multiple projects concurrently, and may also provide support to Pre-sales and Services Organization.
Responsibilities
- Manage and/or perform implementation of communication system solutions and services that satisfy customer, end-user, and operator requirements.
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), coordinating technical aspects.
- Install, integrate, test, and commission MSI and third-party solutions with supplier/vendor support.
- Identify, investigate, and troubleshoot technical issues during project implementation.
- Conduct on-site Acceptance Tests, coordinating technical aspects.
- Update technical documentation and manage technical changes.
- Provide project status updates and reporting.
- Engage in self-development through training plans, experience, and knowledge transfer.
- Interface, communicate, and coordinate with customers, partners, and sub-contractors on project deployment and best practices.
- Ensure project delivery adheres to Motorola Solutions' Quality, Health, and Safety standards.
Requirements
- Fluent in English and German.
- At least 3 years of professional engineering experience in Telecommunication System, IP Transport Network, IT, Field, Service, or Technical Support.
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Juniper Network Certified Internet Associate (JNCIA) or higher certification.
- Good knowledge of Operating Systems and Applications (Unix, Windows, Virtualization Technology, etc.).
- Good knowledge of Radio Frequency (Base Station TX/RX test, Mobile/Portable Radio, RF test equipment).
- Manual skills for field work including wiring, soldering, and physical equipment installation.
- Valid Driving License.
- Availability and willingness to travel up to 80% within and outside the country of residence.
- Willingness to obtain relevant Security Clearance for customer site access.
- Experience in Motorola Solutions' Mission Critical communication technology (e.g., DIMETRA and WAVE/Kodiak) is an advantage.
- Experience in Video Security Solutions is an advantage.
- Experience in Command and Control Systems is an advantage.
- Experience in Voice Logging technology is an advantage.
- Experience in LTE RAN and EPC integration and test is an advantage.
