About the Role

We are seeking to expand our team to accelerate the development of new 3D measurement methods and establish a concurrent development system for new products. This role is crucial for designing and developing optical adapters, observation optical systems, illumination optical systems, and image acquisition systems for industrial endoscopes. You will optimize optics and 3D measurement algorithms to enhance observation and measurement performance, develop optical element technologies for new measurement methods, and improve development quality and efficiency through simulations.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop optical systems for industrial endoscopes, including imaging and illumination optics for optical adapters.
  • Specify image acquisition systems, considering lenses, illumination, and imaging conditions.
  • Utilize optical simulations for performance prediction and design optimization.
  • Evaluate optical performance using prototypes and actual equipment, analyze causes of issues, and implement improvements.
  • Specify optical components and collaborate with manufacturing departments and suppliers.
  • Drive development from product specification to production launch.
  • Develop optical systems integrated with 3D measurement algorithms, considering lenses, illumination, and imaging conditions suitable for 3D measurement.
  • Conduct performance predictions using optical, image, and measurement simulations.
  • Analyze the impact of image acquisition conditions on measurement accuracy.
  • Verify and optimize performance through simulations and actual equipment evaluation.
  • Plan and develop optical element technologies required for new 3D measurement methods.
  • Investigate principles for new observation, illumination, and image acquisition methods.
  • Verify feasibility using simulations and prototype optical systems.
  • Identify technical challenges and formulate development plans for future products.

Requirements

  • Master's degree, Bachelor's degree, or Associate's degree.
  • Business-level Japanese language proficiency.
  • Fundamental knowledge of optics, including geometric and wave optics, necessary for optical design.
  • Experience in designing and evaluating imaging or illumination optical systems.
  • Experience using optical simulation tools for design.
  • Ability to scientifically and logically analyze evaluation results and improve designs.
  • Experience with Zemax, Code V, or LightTools.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in optical design and development of optical equipment, imaging equipment, endoscopes, microscopes, cameras, or sensors.
  • Basic knowledge of image processing, computer vision, and 3D measurement.
  • Experience with tolerance analysis, stray light analysis, and illumination analysis.
  • Knowledge of optical drafting and processing/evaluation of optical components.
  • Experience developing industrial endoscopes, microscopes, cameras, or medical/industrial optical equipment.
  • Experience collaborating with optical component manufacturers or overseas suppliers.
  • Experience from product specification to prototyping, evaluation, and production launch.
  • Experience driving the optical domain in product development projects.
  • Ability to approach problems related to optical technology as personal challenges.
  • Proactively set, investigate, and propose solutions in collaboration with stakeholders.
