About the Role
Join Suncorp's NSW CTP Claims team as a Common Law Claims Advisor in Sydney. This role allows legal or personal injury professionals to manage complex personal injury claims, develop claim strategies, and negotiate outcomes for customers.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of complex Common Law personal injury claims from lodgement through to resolution
- Develop and execute effective claims strategies to achieve timely and sustainable outcomes
- Review and interpret medical, financial, rehabilitation and investigative evidence
- Negotiate with claimants, solicitors and other stakeholders across pre-proceedings and litigated claims
- Attend settlement conferences and hearings as required
- Build strong relationships with customers and their legal representatives
- Make fair, informed decisions using judgement and analysis
- Work closely with Technical Advisors, Injury Management Advisors and Legal teams
- Ensure claims are managed in line with legislation, regulatory requirements and internal procedures
Requirements
- Comfortable with complexity
- Confident having challenging conversations
- Motivated by finding fair and effective solutions
- Lawyer or legal professional with experience in a law firm looking for a career change
- Personal injury experience looking to broaden career
- Insurance or claims professional with strong negotiation, analytical and stakeholder skills
- Experience in a personal injury environment, including plaintiff law, medical negligence or other forms of personal injury
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence to engage with customers, solicitors and a range of stakeholders
- Strong negotiation, conflict resolution and decision-making skills
- Ability to analyse complex information and exercise sound judgement
- Strategic and solutions-focused approach to claims management
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently
- CTP experience is not essential; transferable skills, experience and genuine interest in building a career in Common Law are valued
