About the Role
The Utility plays a key role in delivering Sonesta's mission of providing exceptional service to both guests and colleagues. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen and dishwashing areas.
Responsibilities
- Operate dishwashing machines to clean dishes, pots, pans, and utensils
- Pre-wash items, load/unload machines, and inspect cleanliness of wares
- Hand-wash kitchen equipment and sanitize surfaces
- Restock cleaned wares and keep workstations organized
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, bar, bathrooms, and service areas
- Remove and properly dispose of trash and recyclables
- Clean and maintain garbage compactor and trash areas
- Use cleaning chemicals and equipment per safety guidelines (OSHA)
- Support basic food prep and banquet setup as needed
- Follow all sanitation, health, and safety regulations
- Report on maintenance or safety issues promptly
- Properly store Ecolab solutions and cleaning supplies in their designated storage areas upon delivery
Requirements
- Ability to communicate in basic English
- Ability to count and follow directions
- Physically able to lift, bend, stand, and perform manual tasks in hot, humid environments
- Flexibility to work variable days, including weekends and holidays, is required
- Flexibility to work variable shifts (days, nights, overnights) is essential
