About the Role
Factory is hiring a Solutions Engineering Manager to build and lead the Enterprise Solutions Engineering team. This role involves owning the full customer lifecycle, from pre-sales to post-sales, and driving technical wins and production outcomes for key enterprise accounts. You will hire, coach, and set standards for the team, working closely with Sales, Product, and Engineering.
Responsibilities
- Build the Enterprise Solutions Engineering team, defining hiring profiles, recruiting, and growing the team.
- Design and iterate the team's operating playbook across the full customer lifecycle.
- Own and report on the team's technical win rate, time-to-technical-win, pilot-to-production conversion, and post-sales adoption.
- Partner with Sales leadership to run high-quality technical discovery, demos, and proofs of concept.
- Carry accounts directly while the team ramps and serve as an escalation point for complex evaluations and deals.
- Onboard, coach, and develop Solutions Engineers, setting clear expectations and career paths.
- Act as the voice of the field internally, providing customer and prospect insights to Product and Engineering.
Requirements
- 4+ years leading Enterprise Solutions Engineering, Field Engineering, Solutions Architecture, or customer engineering teams in enterprise software.
- Experience spanning pre-sales and post-sales, including building or scaling a team.
- A strong hiring track record: ability to source, assess, and close senior technical customer-facing talent.
- Proven ability to partner with Sales while protecting technical integrity and customer trust.
- Comfort in high-pressure, customer-facing environments.
- Operational discipline: ability to track metrics and run a team based on data.
- Executive presence and clear communication skills with technical stakeholders.
- A builder and player-coach mindset, thriving in a fast-moving startup environment.
- Hands-on experience with agentic coding tools, LLM-based products, or developer platform sales (nice to have).
- Background as a software engineer or in a technical consulting role (nice to have).
- Experience standing up a new team or function for a high-growth company (nice to have).
