About the Role

Rocket Money's mission is to empower people to live their best financial lives by offering a unique understanding of their finances and valuable services that save them time and money. The Data Analytics team is growing and hiring a Data Analyst to partner with Operations and Customer Support teams, bringing a strong analytic point of view to operational problems, shaping measurement and reporting, leading ad hoc investigations, and delivering actionable insights.

Responsibilities

  • Partner semi-embedded with operations and customer support management teams to own complex analytic work end-to-end: framing questions, defining measurement, and delivering narratives that influence roadmap decisions.
  • Build trusted relationships with operations leadership and relevant cross-functional partners, communicating tradeoffs, managing expectations through ambiguity, and ensuring analytics engagement lands at the right moments.
  • Lead high-impact ad hoc analyses that surface non-obvious opportunities or trends in operations data; proactively follow insights through to recommendations which will directly impact customer outcomes.
  • Create self-service analytics: contributing dashboards, metric definitions, reusable queries/notebooks, and documentation.
  • Proactively seek out creative ways to apply data analytics methods and tools within the operations space.
  • Guide and educate stakeholders and partners in the usage of these tools to support their decision-making process.
  • Mentor and uplift teammates through high-quality reviews, feedback, and collaboration.
  • Model pragmatic prioritization: balancing rigor with speed and escalating when scope or risk requires broader alignment.
  • Own commitments for your initiatives with predictable communication: clarify scope, document methods/limitations, communicate impact, and reprioritize when new information changes what “most impactful” means.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise in data analytics and a strong understanding of data systems and processes, especially delivery of scalable, repeatable self service analytics.
  • 4+ years of experience in data analytics.
  • Proven experience working with operations teams to drive meaningful product improvements.
  • Advanced SQL skills.
  • Experience in a BI tool like Looker (preferred), Tableau, Databricks or PowerBI.
  • Experience with light work in DBT or Airflow is a plus.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to build effective relationships across the organization.
  • Ability to self-organize a peer group to gain feedback.
  • Focus on ensuring analytics tools are accurate, complete, and timely.
  • Proactive involvement with internal clients in a strategic manner.
  • Desire to continue to grow and learn, excitement for hard problems and big challenges.
  • Familiarity with AI tools and understanding of their trade-offs.
  • Experience in fintech, banking, or finance is a plus.
