About the Role
An experienced Commodities, Rates & FX Trader is sought to join Rabobank’s Markets team in Sydney. This role focuses on building and developing the bank's regional commodities trading capability, establishing the necessary infrastructure, pricing capability, and risk framework. The position also involves providing trading coverage across Rates and FX to support Australian Corporate and Rural client activity.
Responsibilities
- Manage orders for Sydney and Hong Kong Sales during Sydney trading hours.
- Quote and execute RFQ business across approved commodities products.
- Develop trading infrastructure to support Australian energy business.
- Manage commodity curves and enhance local pricing capabilities.
- Price and hedge diesel and other commodity transactions.
- Support the development of an appropriate risk framework for commodities trading.
- Price and execute commodity accumulators and vanilla commodity options.
- Develop and enhance trading spreadsheets and order books.
- Build and onboard broker relationships to support Australian and Asian coverage.
- Support milk and dairy trading flows.
- Assess hedging liquidity for ASX electricity products.
- Review and manage portfolio positions and risk.
- Price new Interest Rate and FX transactions.
- Hedge new and existing market exposures.
- Manage pricing for FX spot and FX swaps.
- Manage FX spot and fixing orders during regional coverage periods.
- Price IRS, cross-currency swaps, long-dated FX swaps and par forwards.
- Assist Sales with XVA charge calculations.
- Provide Treasury with cash positions to support optimal funding of the trading book.
Requirements
- At least 5 years’ trading experience, with experience across Commodities and Rates/FX.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant financial products and markets.
- Strong technical and quantitative capability within your areas of expertise.
- Experience building and maintaining pricing sheets and other sales or trading applications.
- The ability to manage risk and respond effectively to client and Sales requests.
- Strong stakeholder and communication skills, with the ability to work across regional and global teams.
