About the Role

You will own how Confluence turns connected content into knowledge that maintains itself, from vision through launch and iteration on problems that arrive undefined. Quality is paramount, ensuring content is current, correctly grouped, and accurate to avoid damaging a team's trust.

Responsibilities

  • Own the strategy and roadmap for connected content within Confluence, including what is pulled in, how it's grouped, titled, summarized, and how stale or contradictory content is handled.
  • Define the process for transforming messy inputs (documents, spreadsheets, transcripts, chat threads, CRM records) into usable structure within Confluence.
  • Own content freshness and decay, determining what updates automatically, what requires human confirmation, and how users can distinguish between the two.
  • Set and defend the quality bar for retrieval, focusing on permission fidelity, accuracy, and latency, and making decisions about what does not ship.
  • Own the quality evaluations for AI-powered features, defining correct outputs, building test sets, catching regressions, and determining when output quality is sufficient.
  • Decide where AI belongs in the user experience and how it behaves when incorrect.
  • Drive execution across Engineering, Design, Data Science, Research, Marketing, Partnerships, and Security and Trust, and present clear recommendations to executive forums.
  • Set the product bar and mentor other Product Managers, improving the quality of specs and decisions across the team.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in product management, with at least one product where content, retrieval, or a model-powered experience was the core value.
  • Experience taking a 0 to 1 product from strategy through launch and beyond initial metrics.
  • Shipped features powered by large language models and owned their evaluations, including defining correct answers, building/maintaining test sets, catching regressions, and making shipping decisions.
  • Fluency with unstructured and semi-structured content, understanding how different content types behave when split, retrieved, and summarized.
  • Demonstrated AI product taste, able to differentiate between effective and ineffective AI features for specific jobs, personas, and moments.
  • Understanding of retrieval-augmented generation and the importance of coverage and permissions for trustworthy answers.
  • Ability to protect admin trust and understand the long-term cost of surfacing incorrect or inappropriate content.
  • Skill in driving alignment among senior partners with competing priorities and writing concisely for executive decision-making.
  • Experience with integrations against Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, Salesforce, or a data platform is a plus.
  • Background in knowledge management, enterprise search, or document management is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping and evaluation tooling is a plus.
