  • Define the approach, set priorities, and develop the roadmap for reporting initiatives, with accountability for results.
  • Write compelling product vision and requirements documents that connect customer and market problems to the broader reporting strategy.
  • Engage closely with users, including advertisers, agencies, and customer-facing teams, to understand their workflows and identify opportunities.
  • Collaborate with engineering and design partners to explore solutions, test ideas, and create intuitive user experiences.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, freshness, and performance are foundational requirements for reporting products.
  • Prioritize and deliver meaningful improvements by breaking down ambitious initiatives into manageable releases.
  • Define success metrics before launch and evaluate product performance through usage, customer feedback, and key measures.
  • Champion reporting initiatives across the company and with customers, communicating the vision and demonstrating new capabilities.
  • Build enthusiasm and adoption for reporting features while incorporating customer feedback into future product decisions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product management experience, with a track record of taking software products from discovery through launch and continued improvement.
  • Clear communication and independent execution skills, including writing persuasive vision and requirements documents.
  • Ability to make complex ideas understandable and explain decisions and tradeoffs with precision.
  • Experience building data products such as analytics or reporting products involving data exploration, visualization, reporting APIs, scheduled delivery, or data collaboration.
  • Understanding of what makes data products useful in customers’ daily workflows and how to earn their trust.
  • Hands-on fluency with data, including strong SQL skills and comfort exploring datasets, investigating discrepancies, and testing hypotheses.
  • Understanding of data modeling, metric definitions, and the impact of granularity, freshness, and quality on analysis.
  • Analytical mindset and ability to use visualization and data storytelling to make complex information clear and actionable.
  • Technical depth and a collaborative approach to building, including working closely with engineers on data pipelines, APIs, query performance, and reporting models.
  • Ability to translate customer needs into meaningful technical requirements and reason through tradeoffs across flexibility, latency, reliability, and scale.
  • Strong product judgment and attention to craft, including simplifying complex problems and making scope decisions that preserve value.
  • Keen eye for UX and a bias toward simplicity, partnering with designers to push for clarity in data-dense products.
  • Customer curiosity backed by action, including spending time with users and translating learnings into priorities and solutions.
  • Commitment to measurable outcomes, using evidence to evaluate product value and driving improvements when results fall short.
