About the Role
Apollo assigns designers to high-leverage problems, with priorities set quarterly. You will own well-scoped problem areas end-to-end, from user and system understanding to shipping polished experiences, and contribute to raising the craft bar.
Responsibilities
- Own design for defined workflows in developer tools, from discovery through shipped experience.
- Partner with engineers and PMs to shape product development, providing input on scope and trade-offs.
- Scope v1s for quick value delivery, iterating based on usage and feedback.
- Design for details like states, edge cases, errors, and permissions to ensure trustworthy technical products.
- Contribute reusable patterns and components to the design system and migrate product surfaces.
- Utilize AI tools for rapid prototyping and testing, conducting lightweight usability tests.
- Tie work to outcomes such as task completion, developer activation, or reduced support tickets.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software design experience, focusing on product or UX design.
- A portfolio of shipped work.
- Experience designing complex products, preferably for technical users (developer tools, infrastructure, data, security, identity, or APIs).
- A track record of owning features or workflows end-to-end.
- Strong visual design, interaction, and craft skills.
- Comfortable working through ambiguity within a defined problem area.
- Experience shipping developer-focused experiences, API tooling, or agent experiences.
- Experience contributing to a design system and knowing when to deviate.
- Ability to use AI tools for faster prototyping and exploration.
- An engineering background or comfort working in code.
- Curiosity about developer tools and AI agents.
- Equally comfortable with user journeys and interaction details.
