About the Role
The Gund Company has an immediate opening for a full-time CNC Machine Operator I to join our team, playing a key role in the manufacture of thermoset composite materials by operating manufacturing equipment.
Responsibilities
- Operate manufacturing equipment including presses, forming, extrusion, pultrusion and/or shape machines.
- Perform manual work and use various hand tools and secondary/accessory equipment.
- Manufacture molded glass polyester sheets.
- Select and install machine components, such as dies, spacers, shims and/or stops according to specifications.
- Trim/file and de-flash molded sheet edges.
- Perform in-process measuring and material inspections.
- Set up tooling, load programs and set machine parameters for optimal equipment performance.
- Clean dies and molds using scrapers, brushes, scotch pads or air hoses.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED with prior hands-on, vocational or job-related course work/training, or any similar combination of education and experience.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing industry with mixing, batching or compounding equipment is preferred.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
- The position may involve repetitive tasks and manual labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods of time.
