- Lead on international frameworks including global criminal record and right to work checks, GDPR in a screening context, and support on US FCRA and state law.
- Address complex regulatory questions from sales, account management, and customer success teams, and provide regulatory input for tenders and RFPs.
- Review the product, including new features, checks, and user flows, from a regulatory perspective and translate new legislation into product requirements.
- Monitor regulatory developments across the UK, EU, US, and APAC and create practical guidance for commercial teams.
- Manage fractional regulatory experts and external counsel in collaboration with the Head of Regulatory Compliance.
Requirements
- A regulatory or compliance background with experience interpreting regulation in legal practice, in-house, at a regulator, or in a compliance function.
- Ability to provide clear, defensible views in plain English and know when to escalate or decide.
- Capacity to quickly understand new regulatory frameworks and become effective rapidly.
- Comfortable reading legislation, statutory guidance, and regulator publications.
- Commercially minded with an understanding that compliance must be practical.
- Pragmatic about risk, understanding that not all regulations have the same impact.
- Collaborative approach, working effectively with Product, Legal, and commercial teams.
- Experience across more than one sector is a strong plus.
