About the Role

Darktrace is seeking a Salesforce Functional Consultant to design and implement scalable Salesforce solutions. This role involves business analysis and Salesforce platform expertise to translate business needs into effective solutions, leading discovery, and determining the best approach (configuration, integration, custom development, or process change). You will collaborate with various teams from discovery through adoption.

Responsibilities

  • Lead discovery workshops, stakeholder interviews, and process-mapping sessions.
  • Analyze current and future-state processes, identifying business rules, data requirements, dependencies, and impacts.
  • Translate business outcomes into prioritized epics, features, and user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
  • Partner with Product Owners to assess demand value, priority, and readiness, supporting backlog refinement and planning.
  • Clarify scope, assumptions, dependencies, risks, and complexity to support estimation.
  • Advise stakeholders on Salesforce capabilities and constraints, promoting configuration-first solutions.
  • Develop functional solution options covering process, data, security, automation, reporting, integrations, and user experience.
  • Configure or prototype declarative Salesforce solutions.
  • Validate feasibility, integration requirements, and architectural considerations with Solution Architects and technical specialists.
  • Support testing, UAT, defect triage, release readiness, and adoption activities.
  • Identify opportunities for process simplification, data quality improvement, and better utilization of Salesforce capabilities.
  • Build knowledge of adjacent CRM, revenue, and marketing platforms to support wider go-to-market technology changes.

Requirements

  • Proven experience delivering Salesforce-enabled change, extending beyond requirements capture to functional solution design.
  • Experience with Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Revenue Cloud, or CPQ, ideally supporting quote-to-cash or customer lifecycle processes.
  • Strong business analysis capability, including workshop facilitation, process modelling, gap analysis, requirements elicitation, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Good working knowledge of the Salesforce platform, including data models, security and sharing, declarative automation, reporting, and user experience configuration.
  • Experience assessing solution options and articulating trade-offs between configuration, integration, custom development, and business process change.
  • Experience supporting demand assessment and estimation by defining scope, assumptions, dependencies, risks, and solution complexity.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Product Owners, Solution Architects, Salesforce Administrators, Developers, Test, Data, and Integration teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to challenge requirements constructively and navigate competing priorities.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving Agile environment and adapting as business needs evolve.
