About the Role
As Product Manager, Anti-Fraud, you will own the product roadmap for systems that detect, prevent, and respond to fraud and abuse across the customer lifecycle. You will balance stopping bad actors with minimizing friction for legitimate customers, working at the intersection of Trust & Safety, Payments/Billing, Risk, Data Science, and Product Engineering.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end anti-fraud product roadmap, including signup/KYC checks, payment fraud detection, account takeover protection, and compute-abuse prevention.
- Own the rules and risk-scoring surfaces, enabling analysts and data scientists to define, test, and deploy detection rules and ML models.
- Own the manual review and case-management experience for the Trust & Safety operations team.
- Own customer-facing friction points, such as verification flows and appeals, to protect the legitimate user experience.
- Identify fraud and abuse incidents early by defining signals, alerts, and thresholds.
- Participate in incident reviews and post-mortems to capture root causes and drive improvements.
- Ensure timely response to active incidents by driving triage, ownership, and mitigation.
- Write clear PRDs and specs to translate risk problems into engineering and data-science work.
- Partner with the Analytics team on detection models, defining problems, labels, and success criteria.
- Run experiments and monitor rollouts, tracking fraud-catch metrics and false-positive impact.
- Work with Legal/Compliance to align detection and enforcement with relevant regulations and requirements.
- Track and report on fraud loss, chargeback rate, false-positive rate, review throughput, and time-to-detection.
Requirements
- Proven product management experience in fraud, risk, trust & safety, or payments.
- Strong analytical skills, comfortable with data, SQL or equivalent, and reasoning about precision/recall trade-offs and metrics.
- Ability to make decisions under ambiguity and balance security, business, and customer-experience priorities.
- Solid collaboration with engineering and data science, capable of technical conversations about signals, features, and model behavior.
- Exposure to cloud, SaaS, marketplace, fintech, or infrastructure products.
- Understanding of payment fraud, chargebacks, KYC/AML, or device/network signals.
