You will translate customer and product needs into clear technical requirements and support verification and validation activities, collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage requirements, with clear rationale, for systems including hardware, software/firmware, and mechanical components.
  • Contribute to system architecture development and document supporting simulations and analyses.
  • Support systems engineering activities for new and existing products across the product lifecycle.
  • Contribute to concept generation and system and subsystem designs that support reliability, safety, manufacturability, and sustainability.
  • Use requirements management tools to maintain traceability between requirements and verification and validation test cases.
  • Participate in risk analyses and help develop, implement, and verify risk mitigation measures.
  • Track assigned engineering activities and communicate progress, risks, and results to the project team.
  • Participate in cross-functional technical discussions and design reviews, presenting assigned work and incorporating feedback.
  • Collaborate with project team members and follow established development procedures and documentation practices.
  • Support assigned activities across product development and sustaining projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 3+ years of professional engineering experience.
  • 1+ year of hands-on experience developing or managing requirements for electromechanical products.
  • Experience contributing to a project involving embedded software or firmware.
  • Familiarity with requirements and test case management tools such as DOORS, Jama, or Jira.
  • Exposure to connected products and product cybersecurity concepts.
  • Familiarity with embedded systems and microcontroller-based products.
  • Exposure to high-hazard or regulated environments, such as industrial life safety (e.g., SIL 2), hazardous-location certification (ATEX/IECEx, FM, UL), aerospace, or medical devices.
  • Ability to help translate customer and product needs into clear technical requirements and communicate them to electrical, software/firmware, and mechanical engineers.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively, complete assigned work independently, and seek guidance when needed.
  • Exposure to development lifecycle activities, including requirements definition, design, implementation, or testing.
  • Familiarity with FMEA, root cause analysis, or statistical analysis.
  • Interest in improving engineering processes, requirements, and test documentation.
