This role involves taking ownership of the data governance roadmap, identifying gaps, defining priorities, and driving improvements across data privacy, quality, ownership, access, and retention. You will translate governance requirements into practical solutions, ensuring standards and processes are embedded across the organization. A key part of the role is improving data visibility, classification, and lineage, establishing scalable governance frameworks, and empowering teams to manage data responsibly.

Requirements
- Proven experience leading, developing, or scaling data governance programmes
- Strong understanding of data governance principles
- Good knowledge of GDPR and experience translating regulatory requirements into practical processes
- Strong technical understanding of modern data platforms, including SQL, cloud data warehouses, and data transformation tools
- Experience working with data lineage, discovery, and classification tools
- Ability to identify governance gaps, assess risks, and develop practical improvement plans
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing technical and business teams
