About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Contracts Manager to oversee multiple electrical projects from inception to completion. This role involves leading project delivery teams, improving operational processes, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of electrical projects across London and the surrounding Home Counties.
- Oversee project delivery to ensure works are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required specification.
- Manage and support Project Managers and Site Supervisors across multiple live projects.
- Review project programmes, resource plans, procurement schedules, and method statements.
- Allocate labour, materials, and plant for efficient project delivery.
- Lead client meetings and maintain strong relationships with clients, principal contractors, and consultants.
- Monitor project costs, budgets, cashflow forecasts, and profit margins.
- Produce monthly financial forecasts and cost-to-complete reports.
- Collaborate with Quantity Surveyors and the Commercial team on valuations, variations, cost reporting, and final accounts.
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities and implement corrective actions.
- Review existing operational procedures and introduce improvements to project delivery, reporting, quality control, and handover processes.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, including CDM 2015, and relevant electrical regulations.
- Oversee site inspections, quality audits, RAMS, and the completion of outstanding actions.
- Ensure accurate completion of testing certificates, O&M manuals, and handover documentation.
- Support recruitment, staff development, and the ongoing improvement of the project delivery team.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience in electrical contracting.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as an Electrical Contracts Manager or Senior Electrical Project Manager.
- Proven experience managing multiple electrical projects simultaneously.
- Experience delivering projects typically valued between £500,000 and £5 million or above.
- Background in commercial, residential, public sector, or fit-out projects.
- Previous experience managing Project Managers and Site Supervisors.
- Strong commercial awareness, including cashflow forecasting, cost reporting, and budget management.
- Experience working closely with Quantity Surveyors and commercial teams.
- A track record of improving operational processes and project delivery procedures.
- Strong knowledge of electrical installations, BS 7671, and health and safety requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and resolve issues proactively.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and project management software.
- A full UK driving licence.
