About the Role

As an Internal Tools & Integrations Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the development, operation, and continuous improvement of internal applications and automations that support daily business processes. You will connect systems, reduce manual work, and develop reliable internal tools by combining full-stack development with APIs, integrations, and workflow automations.

Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for the operation, maintenance, and continuous development of internal applications, including the internal Vue/Nuxt staffing application.
  • Conceptualize, develop, and operate event-based automations and "glue code" using n8n, Slack integrations, REST APIs, and webhooks to reduce repetitive manual tasks and connect internal applications with external SaaS tools and AI models.
  • Ensure secure and reliable data availability from internal systems by developing optimized database views and robust API endpoints, especially for analytics and reporting.
  • Monitor application availability, manage production databases, and ensure they remain stable and scale securely with business requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with Operations and Staffing teams to identify workflow friction points and develop reliable integrations, data access, and secure technical solutions with Analytics, Workplace IT, Platform, and Security teams.

Requirements

  • Solid experience in modern web development, comfortable with both frontend and backend, particularly with Vue.js/Nuxt.js, Typescript, and Node.js or comparable technologies.
  • Practical experience in designing and implementing API integrations with REST APIs and webhooks, reliably connecting internal applications with external systems and services.
  • Experience with developing and maintaining workflow automations using n8n or comparable platforms like Zapier or Make.
  • Experience integrating common AI APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic) into automation pipelines and web applications, including prompt design, parsing structured outputs (JSON), and API error handling.
  • Focus on effectively and securely solving business problems, with the ability to pragmatically decide between custom-developed software and low-code/no-code solutions.
  • German language skills (minimum A2) and English language skills (C1).
