About the Role

As a Senior Asset Servicing Analyst, you will support the day-to-day delivery of asset servicing activities across multiple asset classes and products. The role will have a particular focus on voluntary and mandatory-with-options corporate actions across the full event lifecycle, from announcement and event validation through to election, instruction, entitlement processing, settlement and reconciliation.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full event cycle for mandatory, voluntary and mandatory-with-options events.
  • Process and oversee corporate actions across equities, fixed income (including calls, partial redemptions, exchanges, consents and restructurings) and derivatives (with a focus on CFDs).
  • Validate event data from multiple sources and maintain an accurate golden copy, investigating and resolving discrepancies in critical event information.
  • Calculate and process entitlements, ensuring that resulting cash and security movements, cost basis and trading restrictions are booked accurately and promptly.
  • Monitor the settlement of outturns and proceeds, and investigate and resolve breaks internally and with custodians and Fund Accounting.
  • Analyse offer documents, prospectuses and custodian notifications to interpret event terms, options, conditions, proration, minimum and maximum acceptance levels, withdrawal rights and defaults.
  • Communicate events clearly and promptly to Portfolio Managers, setting out the options, economic consequences, key dates and internal deadlines.
  • Track and chase voluntary event elections, ensuring that instructions are sent accurately and on time to custodians, by SWIFT or manually where needed.
  • Monitor instruction confirmations and status messages, resolving rejections, mismatches, and late or missing instructions before market deadlines.
  • Adhere to documented procedures and controls, identify operational risks and escalate issues promptly, contributing to incident reporting and remediation.
  • Identify process inefficiencies, control gaps or recurring issues, and implement new controls.
  • Support audit and regulatory reviews by providing accurate data, documentation and explanations as required.
  • Participate in operational projects, including user testing, procedural updates, and system or process enhancements.
  • Build strong working relationships with Portfolio Managers, Reconciliations, Pricing, Trade Support, Compliance and other key stakeholders.
  • Oversee custodian and vendor service quality, raising service issues and taking part in service reviews where needed.
  • Mentor and train junior team members, act as a point of escalation for complex events and provide cover for the Team Lead as needed.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in a corporate actions role within a comparable environment (asset management or investment banking), with particular expertise in voluntary and elective events across the full lifecycle for equities, fixed income and derivatives.
  • Experience with corporate action platforms, data providers (ICE, Bloomberg, Refinitiv) custody portals and SWIFT messaging standards.
  • Experience in implementing controls relating to corporate action processes, with a strong understanding of operational risk, control frameworks and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process enhancements to drive efficiency and mitigate risk.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments and with external partners.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a relevant field.
  • A strong sense of teamwork and a consistent focus on meeting client needs, ensuring exceptional service and satisfaction.
  • Hands-on experience with BlackRock Aladdin, especially Corporate Action Manager (CAM) and the dashboard (highly desirable).
  • Experience supporting system implementations, migrations, parallel runs or user acceptance testing.
  • Exposure to proxy voting oversight.
  • Ability to liaise with clients, data vendors and brokers to resolve operational issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling clear and effective interactions with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the business, promoting trust and collaboration.
  • Known for being approachable and open-minded, creating an inclusive and supportive work environment.
  • Understand the regulatory obligations of the firm, and abide by the regulated entity requirements and JHI policies applicable for your role.
  • Willing to adhere to the provisions of our Investment Advisory Code of Ethics related to personal securities activities and other disclosure and certification requirements, including past political contributions and political activities.
