About the Role

Responsibilities
- Conduct microbiological, chemical, physical, and sensory analyses of dairy products.
- Hold, release, or reject finished goods based on analytical results.
- Verify product compliance with specifications and promptly report any deviations to management.
- Perform in-plant checks including weights, temperatures, ingredient usage, product appearance, code dates, pH levels, and metal detection.
- Calibrate and perform scheduled preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment.
- Conduct daily evaluations of finished products.
- Perform environmental testing to ensure sanitary conditions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all laboratory tests and procedures.
- Ensure a clean, sanitary, and safe laboratory environment.
Requirements
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
- Capable of performing basic mathematical calculations and accurately recording data.
- Proficient in following standard operating procedures and safety protocols with strong attention to detail.
- Ability and willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and various shifts as required.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
- Must be able to frequently stand, walk, kneel, reach, climb, pull, and bend.
- Must be able to routinely lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; and occasionally 75 pounds.
- Must be able to work for extended periods in a cold, damp environment.
Experience Level
- Previous experience in a laboratory environment required.
- Previous experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferred.
Education Level
- High School diploma or GED equivalent, required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science or related field, preferred.
