About the Role

This role is central to identifying, evaluating, and advancing high-impact investment and partnership opportunities across sports, live events, and the broader experience economy, helping to shape Liberty Global's investment strategy in this key growth area.

Responsibilities

Explore sports and live sectors to identify attractive markets, business models, and potential investment opportunities.
Build and manage a strong pipeline of acquisitions, investments, and strategic partnerships.
Develop compelling investment cases, combining sector insight with rigorous financial analysis and modelling.
Lead diligence on potential targets, assessing business plans, commercial models, and value creation opportunities.
Contribute practical experience of sponsorship, ticketing, events, and fan growth to investment strategies.
Make clear, evidence-led recommendations to senior decision-makers.
Partner with colleagues across M&A, business development, technology, and finance, as well as operating companies.
Work with portfolio businesses, including Formula E, on value creation, commercial partnerships, and growth opportunities.
Support sports priorities across operating companies, including the Ziggo Sport proposition.
Lead project teams and potentially represent Liberty Global on portfolio company boards.

Requirements

A strong strategic mindset, backed by excellent analytical and financial modelling skills.
Direct experience within sports, live events, or the wider experience economy.
A strong understanding of the commercial and operational models that drive value within these sectors.
An established ability to build and maintain relationships across the industry.
Experience within, or working closely with, digital or high-growth businesses.
Credibility to distill complex questions into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders.
Ability to operate effectively across M&A, business development, technology, and finance.
Ability to lead teams both directly and indirectly.
Experience of acquisitions, investments, or strategic partnerships is valuable.
Experience across portfolio businesses, technology and digital platforms, or driving fan and consumer growth in newer markets is valuable.
