About the Role

The role sits within the OEGEN's Funds Finance team, reporting directly into a Finance Manager. OEGEN Funds Finance is responsible for the financial reporting and analysis for an expanding portfolio of renewable assets owned by Retail, Institutional, and Listed Funds. The role requires managing the quality of management accounts and financial information at the asset level, overseeing external accounting teams, and ensuring appropriate controls. It involves managing stakeholders and delivering to tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

Review and challenge management accounts provided by external accountants.
Report on the financial performance of operational portfolios at monthly Customer Board meetings.
Ensure financial information and commentary is accurately presented in Investor Reports.
Address finance-related queries on portfolios, taking ownership and providing timely solutions.
Collaborate with OEGEN commercial asset managers to prepare budgets and monitor costs.
Assist the fund management team in quarterly valuations.
Support the operational onboarding of new investments into OEGEN’s finance and reporting processes.
Assist with the audit of underlying assets.
Support financial due diligence queries arising from asset sales.
Project manage audits and review of statutory financial statements, liaising with external auditors.
Manage payment approvals.
Ensure a robust control environment throughout the portfolio, potentially by mandating the use of OEGEN’s systems.
Act as a business partner and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Identify system improvements and drive change across the team, working with external accountants to enhance processes.
Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis as required.

Requirements

Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA)
Good technical knowledge of UK GAAP
Ability to complete and review consolidations
Knowledge of investment entity accounting is beneficial
Experience working with renewable energy investment assets and understanding of relevant subsidy schemes is preferable
Good understanding of CIR and other basis tax rules would be an advantage

Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA)
