About the Role
Numa is seeking a mid-level Brand Designer to manage the design needs for over 170 properties. This role involves translating brand identity guidelines into self-service templates and assets, ensuring consistency and professionalism across all locations. The designer will independently manage scope, timelines, and quality for operational, property management, and marketing requests, acting as the primary point of contact and shaping Numa's visual presence across Europe.
Responsibilities
- Manage signage and offline communication requests, including collation, prioritization, and tracking in Asana.
- Define project scope independently, assessing feasibility, timeline, and business impact, and communicating decisions transparently.
- Own project delivery by managing timelines, coordinating feedback, and delivering to specifications without a dedicated project manager.
- Proactively update stakeholders on project status, manage expectations, and resolve conflicts.
- Execute property-related design work, including signage visuals, wayfinding, room guides, guest communications, and in-property materials.
- Create self-service templates and assets that properties can adapt or customize according to brand guidance.
- Ensure quality and consistency with Numa brand guidelines and visual standards across all design outputs.
- Prepare files for print vendors, manage specifications, and oversee production handoff.
- Collaborate closely with the Brand Identity team to align on guidelines and operationalize brand decisions.
- Maintain brand consistency by providing properties with clear tools and resources.
- Identify patterns in requests and suggest scalable solutions such as templates, processes, or guidelines.
- Collaborate with designers and operations teams to refine assets and improve workflows.
- Organize brand assets, maintain template libraries, and ensure design systems are accessible.
- Enable self-service for properties and teams by providing clear guidelines and support.
- Identify bottlenecks and suggest process improvements for request handling and delivery.
Requirements
- Print design experience, including understanding production workflows, file specifications, and vendor requirements.
- AI-first approach to designing scalable systems that enable distributed execution.
- Canva experience, with an understanding of template-based design and self-service workflows.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop), with InDesign being particularly important for layout and print.
- Strong foundation in layout, typography, and visual hierarchy.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency at scale.
- Project management mindset, comfortable owning scope, timeline, and stakeholder management.
- Asana proficiency or ability to learn quickly for tracking requests, managing workload, and coordinating with teams.
- Clear communication skills, capable of explaining design decisions, managing expectations, and presenting ideas to non-designers.
- Proactive and transparent working style, surfacing issues early, communicating status regularly, and taking initiative.
- Problem-solving abilities, translating vague requests into clear briefs and suggesting solutions.
- Ability to work independently, comfortable making decisions and pushing back when needed.
- Fluent English (spoken and written) for communication across teams and with international stakeholders.
- Service design mindset, considering how design serves the user and the business.
- Collaborative attitude, enjoying work with designers, operations teams, and property teams.
- Experience in hospitality, multi-location retail, or franchise operations is a plus.
- Familiarity with production workflows, printing, or vendor management is a plus.
- Experience managing design requests from non-designers is a plus.
- Knowledge of wayfinding or environmental design is a plus.
- Experience with design systems or scalable design thinking is a plus.
- Interest in how brand translates to physical spaces is a plus.
