Responsibilities

Monitor strategy performance, P&L, margin usage, and positions during the trading day.
Identify, respond to, and report unusual behavior, such as changes in message counts, packet loss, or significant shifts in positions or P&L.
Manage live strategies by adjusting parameters based on changing market conditions.
Apply sound risk judgment to decide when to disable underperforming strategies or adjust sizing responsibly.
Demonstrate in-depth product knowledge, including trading mechanics, last trading dates, and trading hours.
Backtest changes to existing and new strategies.
Identify new money-making opportunities and ideas.
Utilize Jump's in-house tools and services.
Book OTC trades as necessary.
Triage production issues (trading and technology), prioritize, and delegate them, providing necessary information for reproduction.
Maintain high uptime to ensure trading during market hours.
Communicate clearly and promptly with the Energy team and back office regarding current or potential issues.
Build strong relationships with brokers, including in-person meetings.
Take over from the Asia team on time and maintain flexible hours to ensure full trading day coverage.
Write concise end-of-day reports on key matters like risk, system changes, or trading incidents.
Maintain production configurations for trading and research, checking daily for updates.
Build reliable and supportable tools to improve trading and operations, such as streamlining processes or enhancing monitoring.
Share knowledge by keeping Confluence SOPs updated.
Perform other duties as assigned or needed.

Requirements

Experience in a trading, trading operations, or strategy support role, ideally in energy or another futures or commodities market.
Strong risk awareness and the confidence to act decisively on live positions under pressure.
Good knowledge of exchange-traded products, including contract specs, expiries, and trading hours.
Programming ability in Python, C++, and shell scripting, sufficient to build supportable tools.
Comfort with backtesting and data analysis, with a curiosity for finding new sources of P&L.
Ability to calmly triage technical and trading issues, prioritize sensibly, and escalate clearly.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, suitable for end-of-day reports and collaboration with back office and brokers.
Good relationship-building skills, including meeting counterparties in person.
Flexibility in working hours to cover the trading day and take over from Asia.
A collaborative, process-minded approach to documenting and sharing knowledge.
