About the Role

The State Director (NSW) is accountable for driving growth and retention, net inflows and revenue outcomes across NSW by leading, coaching and enabling a team of BDMs & RMs. The role focuses on building high-quality adviser partnerships, growing share of wallet, and accelerating adoption of CFS platforms and solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of BDMs and RMs to deliver strong commercial and customer outcomes.
  • Own the NSW growth strategy, driving net inflows, revenue growth and increased share of wallet across platform, managed accounts and investment solutions.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with key advisers, practices, licensees and strategic partners.
  • Improve adviser acquisition and conversion, taking opportunities from prospect through to active platform adoption and increased usage.
  • Coach the team in value-based selling and practice development, including adviser business growth, pricing, profitability, workflow optimisation and technology adoption.
  • Establish strong sales disciplines across pipeline management, territory planning, CRM, forecasting and account management.
  • Use market, competitor and customer insights to identify opportunities and focus resources on areas with the greatest commercial potential.
  • Partner with Product, Operations, Implementation and Risk teams to support major client transitions, resolve issues and continually improve the adviser experience.
  • Champion strong capability across wrap platforms, SMA/MDA solutions, digital tools and reporting.
  • Represent the business at industry conferences, licensee events, professional development days and other key adviser forums.
  • Foster a strong risk and governance culture, ensuring growth is delivered responsibly and with a clear focus on customer outcomes.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in wealth management distribution, platform sales, or adviser-facing financial services roles, including leadership accountability.
  • Strong understanding of the financial advice landscape, wealth platforms and investment products, and the drivers of adviser adoption and share-of-wallet growth.
  • Proven ability to lead teams to grow and retain adviser relationships in a competitive market, including sponsoring key relationships and complex deals.
  • Demonstrated coaching and enablement capability—uplifting sales behaviours, practice-development conversations and disciplined execution across a team.
  • Strong stakeholder management, presentation and influencing skills, with the ability to align internal teams around adviser outcomes.
  • Strong commercial acumen—able to interpret data, manage pipelines/forecasts, and drive performance through clear accountability and routines.
  • Full work rights in Australia.
