About the Role
We are seeking a Manager, Technical Program Management to drive execution for engineering teams within a broader applied ML organization, powering personalization and applied ML across Paramount+ and Pluto TV. This role will support content data, metadata, and embedding pipelines that feed downstream models, or on the personalization, recommendation, and ranking models built from them. You will own delivery of cross-team programs, bringing structure to a fast-moving environment and becoming a delivery engine for the team's roadmap.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate all activities for projects with multiple teams, potentially including content and data pipelines, model development, or personalization systems.
- Define scope, milestones, OKRs, and success metrics, and report against them for the senior executive team and stakeholders.
- Apply systems thinking and technical judgment to pipeline, model, and infrastructure tradeoffs, influencing outcomes across a matrixed set of stakeholders without formal authority.
- Own cross-team dependency tracking and priority alignment across technology touchpoints.
- Identify technical and delivery risks, including issues with data quality, model readiness, and infrastructure capacity, and work with owners to address them.
- Facilitate root-cause clarity on complex, blocking issues; surface tradeoffs and escalate decisions with crisp options and recommendations.
- Partner with engineering and adjacent product teams to align milestones and ensure delivery.
- Translate technical tradeoff discussions into clear plans for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Provide clear, executive-ready updates on status, risks, decisions, and tradeoffs to team and org management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent applicable experience.
- 8+ years of experience in Technical Program Management, Engineering Program Management, or a related role delivering complex, multi-team technical systems.
- Hands-on experience with AI-Assisted Development Tools and AI to build operational tooling, dashboards, or automation that measurably improves team efficiency.
- Experience with applied machine learning systems, including developing models, personalization, ranking, and recommendation engineering.
- Experience with content or data engineering systems, including large-scale content ingestion, metadata, and embedding pipelines.
- Working knowledge of at least one major cloud platform.
- Proven ability to operate in ambiguity and bring structure to a fast-moving, still-evolving problem space.
- Experience with content and data ingestion.
- Knowledge of metadata and embedding or feature pipelines.
- Knowledge of vector-based retrieval concepts.
- Skills in content engineering.
- Knowledge of emerging practices like prompt/context engineering and agent orchestration.
