About the Role
Baker Tilly is seeking a Tax Senior Manager to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to be a valued business advisor delivering industry-focused tax advisory and compliance services to middle market clients. You will work with firm leadership to serve clients and build the business, mentor and coach staff, and contribute to the firm's success. Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted member of the engagement team providing federal tax compliance and consulting services to industry-specific clients.
- Act as a valued tax business advisor and lead client relationships on day-to-day tax matters for middle market to multinational clients.
- Consult on technical matters and special projects in corporate and flow through taxation, accounting methods, and ASC740.
- Research tax matters, respond to IRS and other tax authority inquiries, and provide recommendations to clients.
- Coordinate with specialty tax practices on state and local, high net worth, international, research and development, and credits and incentives.
- Manage client engagement staffing, billings/collections, and ensure client profitability targets are met.
- Utilize entrepreneurial skills to network and build relationships for acquiring new clients, projects, and revenue.
- Invest in professional development through individual efforts and firm-wide programs.
- Support team member growth and development through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy.
- Participate in social activities and team outings that encourage work-life balance.
Requirements
- Eight (8)+ years’ experience providing federal tax compliance and consulting services in a professional services firm.
- Five (5)+ years’ of supervisory experience, mentoring and counseling associates.
- Demonstrated management, analytical, organization, interpersonal, project management, and communication skills.
- Ability to lead and supervise others, provide exceptional client service, demonstrate commitment to continuous learning, see the "big picture" and the details, display appropriate ethical knowledge and commitment, and exhibit a sense of urgency and commitment to quality and timely project completion.
- Highly developed software and Microsoft Suite skills.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship preferred.
