About the Role
Everest is seeking a Senior Analyst, Finance Data & Reporting, a senior specialist with significant financial reporting and controls experience and advanced data, systems and automation capabilities. The role owns complex finance reporting deliverables, strengthens source-to-report integration, reconciliations and lineage, and leads cross-system data investigation and resolution. It supports controlled, scalable business-as-usual reporting and finance transformation, including finance data domain implementation. The preferred candidate combines substantial practical finance experience with further formal qualifications in data and systems.
Responsibilities
- Own the delivery and integrity of finance reporting datasets, cubes, reports and dashboards across entities, currencies and accounting bases.
- Automate finance data and reporting processes using SQL, Power Query, Power BI and VBA; apply AI with validation and human oversight to improve accuracy, efficiency and scalability.
- Establish data quality checks, automated reconciliations and source-to-report controls.
- Lead root cause investigations across source systems, interfaces, subledgers, general ledgers and reporting platforms; coordinate remediation, validate corrections and prevent recurrence.
- Translate reporting needs into documented definitions, rules, mappings and validation requirements with Finance, Data, IT, Underwriting, Claims, Credit Control and Reinsurance; define ownership and handovers.
- Shape finance data domain implementation and transformation across governance, architecture and integration.
- Embed lineage, mappings, reconciliations and controls in solution design, user acceptance testing and transition to business-as-usual.
- Deliver data, analysis and reporting solutions for Financial Reporting, FP&A, Tax, Actuarial and Group Finance, reflecting cut-off, foreign exchange and reporting-basis differences.
- Maintain documentation, reporting logic and reconciliation evidence for repeatable delivery, auditability, access control and change management.
- Manage concurrent BAU and project workstreams within centrally agreed priorities; escalate competing demands, dependencies and capacity constraints, while supporting finance users and sharing expertise.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, or equivalent professional qualification, with significant financial reporting and controls experience, including ownership of complex deliverables and control design and operation.
- Further formal qualifications in data, analytics or information systems, through postgraduate study or a substantive combination of recognised professional qualifications.
- Proven delivery of integrated data, reporting and reconciliation solutions to Finance teams, from requirements to BAU adoption; substantial hands-on knowledge of financial close, ledgers, accounting judgements and controls.
- Proven delivery of finance data and reporting projects within cross-functional teams.
Skills
- Deep financial reporting and controls expertise
- Ability to translate regulatory requirements into data rules, mappings, validations, reconciliations and tests.
- Insurance or reinsurance finance experience, preferably P&C, is desirable, covering premium, claims, reinsurance, FX, cut-off and multi-entity, multi-currency and multi-basis reporting.
- Strong understanding of policy and integration with finance platforms, including interfaces, mappings, reconciliations and lineage; ability to resolve cross-system requirements with business and technology teams.
- Advanced cross-system investigation and root cause analysis skills, assessing reporting and control impacts and driving sustainable fixes; rigorous standards for data quality, reconciliation evidence, documentation and controlled change.
- Strong SQL, advanced Excel, Power Query and Power BI modelling skills
- Understanding of relational databases, data architecture and integration.
- Clear communication across Finance, Data and IT, translating technical findings and business requirements into practical solutions.
- Senior-level judgement and accountability
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple workstreams within centrally agreed priorities.
- BI, data engineering, database or enterprise finance systems certifications backed by practical delivery are desirable.
- An accountancy qualification is complementary, not mandatory.
- VBA, Python, other automation tools and responsible AI experience are desirable.
- Oracle ERP or comparable finance platform, reporting warehouse or finance data cube experience is desirable.
- Finance transformation, data governance or finance data domain experience is desirable, including ownership, cross-functional handovers and user acceptance testing.
