About the Role

Wellington Management is seeking qualified candidates to join their evolving and expanding technology team. You will help build and evolve an innovative, industry-leading technology platform, dreaming up and building solutions to today’s investment challenges. This role involves building seamless, cohesive tools used by investors to conduct research and build portfolios, with an emphasis on solving challenges and having a positive impact on clients.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support investment modeling applications across the full stack (services, web, infrastructure, back-end), prototyping new components and optimizing existing systems for performance and maintainability
  • Set technical direction for the team's Python and dashboard stack, including evaluating, standardizing, and recommending libraries, frameworks, and tooling
  • Lead design reviews and provide architectural guidance to other engineers on the team
  • Integrate AI-driven capabilities into investment applications to improve workflows and decision-making
  • Partner with business analysts, QA engineers, and investment professionals across the requirements, testing, and user acceptance lifecycle
  • Manage and communicate delivery timelines, providing status updates and proactively escalating risks
  • Author and maintain technical design and support documentation
  • Support production systems through data quality checks, alerting, and on-call participation

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience designing and developing durable and impactful software solutions
  • Comfortable with SDLC tooling — issue tracking (JIRA), source control (Git), CI/CD (Jenkins / GitHub Actions), and cloud platforms (AWS)
  • Demonstrated use of AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) in daily workflows, with hands-on GenAI development experience a strong plus
  • Experience providing technical leadership - e.g., leading architecture or design discussions, evaluating/standardizing libraries and frameworks, or mentoring engineers
  • Experience building and maintaining production front-end applications using React, HTML, CSS, including consuming GraphQL and/or REST APIs
  • Experience writing SQL and working with relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle)
  • Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DocDB)
  • Experience working in a DevOps environment
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and modern software development and testing practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences and strong follow-through
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage competing priorities, and deliver in a fast-paced, business-critical environment
  • Prior experience in the financial services or asset management industry
